Nest Box 2MFree-hanging, to protect against cats and deter martens | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
[Fig. 1]: Nest Box 2M with Collared Flycatcher (female) [Fig. 2]: FG Hanger (standard hanging method) [Fig. 3]: FO Hanger [Fig. 4]: FT Hanger | Like our Nest Box 1B, this box also has a brood chamber with an internal diameter of 12 cm. It differs, however, in that it can be freely suspended and has a conical roof. These features protect against cats and deter martens. It is very popular in private gardens and especially around fruit trees, mainly in areas where the trees are short and have many branches. The front panels of the 1B and 2M are interchangeable. The different sized entrance holes can be matched to the predominant species of birds in the locality. Material: SCHWEGLER wood-concrete Hanging methods: Please choose the appropriate hanging method using these order numbers: Available entrance hole sizes (please see below): • Diameter 32 mm • Diameter 26 mm • Oval 29 x 55 mm • FG-Hanger - suspended from a branch by a closed loop. (This is the standard hanging method) The loop is place over the branch and then closed. This is a reliable method for gardens and orchards. Because the 2M hangs freely, it provides excellent protection from cats and deters small predators. Because its weight, the 2M hardly sways in the wind. Any movement does not deter birds from occupying the box and does not prevent them from successfully raising their young.
• FO-Hanger - hooked over a branch: Our Hanging Pole, order no. 00510/6, makes it easy to remove the box for cleaning and checking.
• FT-Hanger: This method, with a bracket to hold the box away from the tree and the FG-type loop, is known as the FT Hanger. It can be attached to the trunk and offers even better protection against cats, dormice and martens. Supplied with all the necessary attachments and three Aluminium Nails.
